Clinical research projects are vital to improving the quality of care for those with chronic diseases. By partnering with AMCR Institute (AMCRI), referring physicians become linked to cutting-edge research protocols that can benefit their patients long before a medication or device becomes available in the healthcare marketplace.
Our physician partners can be assured their patients are being well cared for under the direction of the Institute's highly experienced Director Timothy Bailey, MD, FACE. Dr. Bailey, a board-certified endocrinologist, and his staff have worked with thousands of volunteers over the past 20 years. Sponsors of AMCRI trials include many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The AMCR Institute has built an outstanding reputation with its sponsors who have come to rely on AMCRI for finding relevant patient populations that best serve their study requirements and conducting thorough clinical trials with optimal outcomes.
By referring patients that meet the study criteria, physicians become an integral part of breakthrough discoveries. Also, studies have shown that patients who are involved in clinical trials attain improvements to their health. These include significant reductions in hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) levels. AMCRI conducts a number of studies that are appropriate for new or established patients with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes who are on one or more oral agents and/or insulin therapy. We will provide you with copies of all laboratory test results.
Other benefits for partnering physicians include:
- Specialty care for patients with diabetes without referring ongoing care to an endocrinologist.
- HbA1c levels usually decline during a trial. Results of all labs will be provided to you to support pay-for-performance incentives.
- Possible costs savings in patient care resulting from better diabetes control.
- All patients participating in AMCRI studies receive medical care and medications at no cost to them in an effort to promote good overall management of their diabetes. Travel expenses will be reimbursed for patients who live a considerable distance from our offices.
